In Vietnam and Thailand, butterfly tea, also known as anchan, is a typical local drink and is often served after meals or as a refreshment in hotels or spas. Referred to as “nam dok anchan” in Thai, the tea is often made with honey and lime.
It is available in both hot and cold versions. If it is served cold, it is usually refined with honey, mint, cinnamon, passion fruit and ginger.
The tea can also be drunk before going to bed because of its calming properties. It also improves brain function and also has anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects.
